Tea bread, Scones and rich teacakes will be made to take home on this evening. The good old scone has many guises and is trickier to make than the simpe ingredients suggest. They are however very quick to make and delicious with cream and jam.
The basic teacake can be adapted quite easily to personal taste and a small tweak will give you a gorgeour hot cross bun. The richer dough makes this bread slower to make so we will organise the evening around it and fit in the scones when the teabread needs a break.
All ingredients will be provided and participants take home their own baking. Basic recipes for both snacks will be part of the notes that accompany the workshop.
No previous experience is required for this Tea Bread workshop but basic knowledge of ordinary bread making helps.
